NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week: KS 57,084(-14,448), NE
51,961(+1,757), TX 65,855(-8,813). Total trade volume: KS 64,818(-17,554),
NE 78,569(+9,834), TX 68,949(-10,510). New showlists appear to be mixed,
higher in Kansas and Texas, but lower in Nebraska/Colorado. Bids and asking
prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will likely
be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 377.40 +1.64, Select 363.26 +5.29),
with light to moderate box movement (44.83 lds of choice cuts, 4.46 lds of
select cuts, 5.42 lds of trim, and 4.11 lds of ground). Cattle futures are
sharply to significantly lower in the last hour of trade. The CME has extended
limits (Live $0.1075, Feeder $0.1375) Several live contracts and many feeder
issues are currently locked down the new limits.
